Why did I join ARNY?

I joined ARNY because I’ve always loved my bikes, fancied meeting others with similar interests and have a desire for self-preservation.  I previously did  IAM training and test in 2005, followed by some time as an IAM Observer.  But by 2023, I needed a refresh and thus took my ROSPA test in 2023, followed by training and qualifying as ROSPA tutor in 2024.

 

What was your first bike?

My first bike was a Honda CB250K4.  At that time you could buy a 250cc bike and just ride it home.  Absolutely no training required- I survived!

 

What is your current machine?

Currently with that famous German brand, but I have owned all sorts of motorcycles over the years, adventures, tourers, nakeds …

Your favourite biking location?

The best place I’ve ridden in Europe has to be the Dolomites, Italy- just been back for the 4th time.  Fantastic roads, great scenery, wonderful food, amazing motorcycling culture- what’s not to like?  Also, western Scotland is hard to beat, particularly if dry…

 

What does ARNY offer you and me?

ARNY really is a great group of tutors who are all friendly, helpful and willing to enable all riders get the most out of motorcycling and become some of the best and safest riders on the road today.  With the added option of group social events and rides, ARNY really is a great motorcycycling community to be part of.
